Nordic working group Rural Development Policy, Future rural areas

The working group Fremtidens landsbyer (Future rural areas) is tasked with the exchange of experiences and developing knowledge about the role of rural policy in regional development in the Nordic countries. Its brief is also to seek to improve the conditions for future cooperation among the Nordic countries with regard to development and growth in rural areas.

These objectives are addressed in a number of themes:

  • Accessibility
  • Housing
  • Public and private services
  • Entrepreneurship and business development
  • Governance
  • Tourism EU rural development policy after 2013 from a Nordic perspective

The working group conducts seminars and research projects within these themes. Results are mainly published in the form of reports.
