Aims and scope

The aim of the Co-Editors-in-Chief and those on the Editorial Board is to offer a high-quality scientific journal on spatial planning and regional development, policy making and governance. Contributions taking a comparative or European perspective are particularly welcome.

The journal provides a personal support to authors free of charge. As the journal also does not raise a fee for the open access contributions this gives the journal a rather unique position. We particularly encourage young scholars to publish and contribute to the journal. Please contact us directly if you have any questions: ejsd@nordregio.se

European Journal of Spatial Development (EJSD) is a multi-disciplinary journal within the subject area of Social Sciences with focus on the subject categories of Geography, Planning and Development and Urban Studies. Occasionally EJSD also publishes contributions from other subject areas (such as Environmental Sciences) when and if they explicitly contribute to research within the field of European spatial development.

EJSD is currently indexed in SCOPUS, the Directory of Open Access Journal (DOAJ) and EBSCO. It is also included in the Norwegian Register for Scientific Journals, Series and Publishers maintained by the Norwegian Social Science Data Services (NSD): scientific level 1. You can also find the journal through Academic Journals Database and the SCImago Journal & Country Rank.
