Are you Nordregio’s next intern?

Nordregio is currently seeking an intern to assist us with administering the first round of project applications in the Artic Cooperation Programme 2018-21.

The programme aims to support sustainable development in the Arctic based on the five P’s: planet, peoples, prosperity, peace and partnerships. These focus areas are closely linked to Agenda 2030 and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the UN General Assembly in 2015, thus contributing to the Nordic Council of Ministers’ vision for an “innovative, borderless, visible and outward-looking Nordic Region”.

You should be:

  • A reliable and highly organised individual who can manage outreach and correspondence with stakeholders (ideally in at least one Nordic language and in English) along with other administrative tasks relating to the Artic Cooperation Programme 2018-21.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Currently studying in a relevant discipline (e.g. sustainable development, political science, sociology, anthropology, economic geography, urban planning or similar).

What do we offer?

  • Gain first-hand knowledge of the inner workings of an international funding program.
  • Develop in-depth insight into the strategies consortiums of international researchers and practitioners are using to address sustainable development in the Nordic-Arctic context.
  • Further develop your organisational, communication and administrative skills in a dynamic and fun workplace.
  • Be part of an international, multidisciplinary team working on a range of issues related to rural and regional development and urban planning.

The internship will take place from February-May. It is a requirement that all Nordregio interns are affiliated with a university/university programme during the time of the internship (i.e. the internship should be part of your studies). Please note that internships at Nordregio are unpaid.

Please address your application or any questions to internship@nordregio.se. Applications will remain open until such time as a suitable candidate is found.
