The map shows the labour market effects of biogas production, a summary of the total man-years needed for transformation and conversion of all types of biomass to bioenergy, and a regional overview of the relative labour market effects of production of biodiesel, bioethanol from grain and straw respectively, and biogas from manure and straw. The combination of different sources of biomass reduces the dependency on single environmental factors, and therefore enables a higher level of productivity in northern regions.
