This working group is to "present and partly initiate concrete proposals for knowledge development and exchange of experience and prepare input to the Nordic policy development within the field of regional policy and with regard to the role of the urban regions".
They are addressing this objective in a number of themes:
- Urban regions in the globalisation process
- Coordination in complex metropolitan regions
- The role of the Nordic cities as barrier-reducing actors in the Baltic Sea Region.
- The local level as arena for innovation and entrepreneurship
- Urban regions and demographic change
Within these themes, the working group will conduct a number of research projects, organise a range of seminars, and publish a number of results and reports.
