These maps show travel time to the nearest hospital in 2012 by car and by public transport in five case study countries within the BSR. Average travel times by car to the nearest hospital are significantly shorter than travel times with public transport. Only city centres enjoy public transport travel times comparable to car travel, while rural areas often have no public transport at all.
