Evaluation of the collaboration agreement between KTH and Oskarshamn municipality

Nordregio will do an evaluation of the collaboration between KTH and the municipality of Oskarhamn as an input for future collaboration as well as to the regional development process of Kalmar Region and the ambition of Äspö laboratory to apply for national research centre status.

The Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and the municipality of Oskarshamn have, since 2010, an agreement (intentionsavtal) concerning long term collaboration on education, research and cooperation. The agreement involves different departments of KTH, as well as public and private actors in Oskarshamn and the surrounding region. After three year of collaboration there is a need to evaluate and summarize the experience, as an input for decisions on the format and content on future collaboration programs.

Nordregio will, as independent part, evaluate the collaboration, focusing on content, volume, organizational form, development of relations, resources and division of labour. The evaluation has a limited volume, but is based on a desk research of existing document, interviews with relevant stakeholders from academia, public sector and business, and a benchmarking with some other regional collaboration activities.
